Director of Training and Educational Development
Saria Bechara is a fourth year student at the Lebanese American University (LAU) pursuing a dual degree in Biology and Psychology. As a school student, Saria participated in the World Scholar’s Cup (WSC). She qualified to the global round where she received an Honorable Mention in debate and the final round, the Tournament of Champions, in Yale University where she won 1stplace in writing. She entered the simulation programs as a trainer in the 12thand 13thGC LAU MUN. She has also served as a director in the 1st LAU MUN Champions League and participated in the 2018 GCI HSMUN conference in New York as the assistant chair of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization and the 2019 GCI HSMUN conference as the chair of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. Saria served as an Assistant Under-Secretary General for Training and Educational Development in the 14thGC LAU MUN. In addition to the simulation programs, Saria has worked as an administrative assistant with the Outreach and Civic Engagement unit at LAU, been a member of LAU’s Human Rights, Psychology, and Environment clubs, and served as a volunteer in the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) and the Lebanese Autism Society (LAS). Saria is excited and humbled to be serving as the Director of the Training and Educational Development team in the 1stLAU Model African Union.
